Zascha's summer special!

Summer's coming!

And that means we get to pull out our airy embroidery dresses, worn jeans shorts and frivolous skirts! And with what do they combine better than a sunkissed skin? Exactly, endless beachy waves.

In this blog we will discuss how to keep your extensions beautiful, even during the hot summer days. And to finish off, we teach you how to simply and quickly set up a sultry beachwave.

"In this blog, we'll discuss how to keep your extensions beautiful, even during the hot summer days."

For this look, you need a few things. What exactly do you learn in this blog. So grab an ice-cold pina colada and read on relaxed!

Swimming in salt water with your extensions in? Can you do that? We ask Loraine, Loraine works part-time for Zascha and has been wearing Zascha hair for years! "Yeah, no problem. Trust me, I've done it so many times. But of course it can shorten the life of your extensions if you don't take good care of them afterwards!

"Swim in salt water with your extensions in? Can you do that? Yeah, no problem."

"It is very important that you wash your extensions well after swimming in salt water. Before you wash them, take each weft separately and rinse the attachment with the clips well with only water under the tap. After rinsing, dab them thoroughly dry with a towel. Once you have rinsed and dried each weft separately, comb them carefully and then place them on top of each other with all the clips on the same side. When you have done this, roll the wefts up neatly and tie them just below the clips with an elastic band. Now you've made a tail of your wefts, so to speak.

"Take your tail and wet it gently. This can be done while showering or at the sink. Wherever you do it, make sure that the starter and clips now stay dry. Take a good caring shampoo and massage it into the tail. Massage the shampoo through the whole tail, not just the outside. Then rinse the shampoo thoroughly."

"...keep in mind that your extensions are made of 100% human hair and are therefore just as vulnerable as your own hair!"

"Now massage a caring conditioner into the hair and let it soak in for about 2 minutes. Then wash it out well. Now make the tail still wet, loosen the elastic band and remove the weaves. Dab them dry 1 by 1 with a towel. Do not rub! And then hang them to dry in your Easiweft".

TIP: Do you have no easiweft place than a towel over your radiator and hang the wefts over it to dry. It is best to do this just before bedtime so that your extensions can dry nicely overnight and you do not need a hairdryer. When completely dry comb your extensions thoroughly and you can use them again and style as before!

Swimming in chlorine?

Of course it's nice to hear that Loraine can do anything with here hair extensions, but keep in mind that your extensions are made of 100% human hair and therefore just as vulnerable as your own hair! Keep that in mind; Saltspray? nice! A chlorine spray? Hell no!

Chlorine often only causes damage and especially in combination with sun and an SPF it can be very damaging to your extensions.

"Keep in mind. Saltspray? Nice! A chlorine spray? Hell no!"

Long story short, swimming with your extensions is possible. Although we don't recommend it with Zascha. If you do, just like Loraine, make sure you take good care of them afterwards!

TIP: Remember to give your hair a little extra attention in the summer. It's not just your skin that suffers during the hot summer months! That's why make sure you protect your hair with SPF. Below we've made a selection of good caring sprays that don't weigh your hair down unnecessarily and protect it against UV rays.

How to: Luscious beachy waves!

First, the essentials! You need a curling iron of at least 25 mm! Heat the pliers and comb your hair well in the meantime. Personally, I like working in three sections. You make the first section by making a parting halfway in your ear and securing the rest of your hair to your head with a clip. You now start by twisting about 4cm around your pliers. Work alternately. Turn one small section to the front, the next small section to the back. Never turn the pecker all the way to the end but leave 1 turn free at the end. This gives the best result.

When you have curled the entire first section, carefully spray a small amount of hairspray over it from a distance of 30cm. Not too much and not too close! Now make a parting above your ear and repeat the process. This also applies to your third and last section.

"For that extra bit of oomph, you can touch the hair a little bit more."

Now make a parting, depending on how you want to wear your hair. First make an extra parting to the left of this parting and put some volume powder along the roots. For that extra bit of oomph you can touch the hair a little bit more. Repeat this on the right side of the parting. Now gently run your fingers through your hair to pull the waves apart a little. As a finishing touch you can spray a saltspray that gives your hair that real "Just got out of the ocean" look (Rituals has a good one and it smells great, shop here)! Now you're all set and ready to enjoy your luscious beachy waves!
